Disandt House | Fresnaye
Hospitality / Short-term Rental.
A true home away from home. This expansive residence in Fresnaye on the Atlantic Seaboard was thoughtfully transformed into a short-term rental, fast-tracked to meet peak season demand while making intelligent use of the home’s existing bones, furnishings, and character.
Rather than overbuilding or overbuying, the project focused on working with what was already there — preserving the original layout, existing floor finishes, and reusing furniture and materials wherever possible. With selective upgrades, fresh paint, and minor structural interventions, the result was a refined, welcoming space with a lighter environmental footprint.
Defined by soaring ceilings, chunky timber-framed openings, and gorgeous pops of colour, the home balances grandeur with warmth. This space truly welcomes you home.
One of the joys I experienced on this project was discovering the stories embedded within the house itself: reclaimed floorboards in the main reception area sourced from an old ship, and the monumental entrance doors once serving as barn doors in a stable. Details like these bring soul, history, and authenticity to a truly memorable stay.
