This Umdloti short-term rental (STR) was designed to feel distinctive — layered in sandy neutrals, warm timber, with pops of rich texture and colour bringing character to life, and giving the space a memorable coastal identity, while the ergonomic spatial planning keeps it practical, calm and easy to experience a comfy home away from home.
The open-plan layout flows seamlessly, the under-stair kitchen uses space effectively, and every element was considered to make the apartment feel intuitive to live in. The result is a stay that feels polished and distinctive, while still deeply homey. In the world of STRs, that balance matters: spaces that photograph beautifully and feel as good as they look are better positioned to attract attention, convert bookings and leave a lasting impression.

On Airbnb, high-quality design and imagery are one of the biggest factors influencing booking decisions, and Airbnb states that listings with professional photography may earn up to 20% more and receive 20% more bookings. In this context, in makes sense that memorable, well-considered design is more than aesthetic — it becomes a commercial advantage, elevating perceived value, sharpening market positioning, and helping a property stand out in an increasingly competitive STR landscape.
